For collectors, French Bulldogs also represent a fascinating and increasingly sought-after theme within the world of antiques and decorative art.
The French Bulldog rose to prominence in the late 19th century, particularly in Paris, where artists, writers, and fashionable society embraced the breed. Their compact size made them ideal city dogs, while their charming appearance quickly caught the attention of painters, illustrators, and designers.

This collection was mostly curated in the 1980s and ‘90s by a dedicated Frenchie enthusiast, and includes everything from Roullet & Decamps papier-mâché models with barking and nodding functions, porcelain figures by designers for Rosenthal and Royal Copenhagen, bronzes, paintings, novelty clocks and much more.
