Our December 2023 Medals & Militaria auction includes a Caterpillar Club medal awarded to Flying Officer John Fleming MBE for bailing out of a burning aeroplane during the Battle of Britain.
Unfortunately not exactly, but our 11th November auction contains a large collection of Bury St Edmunds related postcards, photographs and ephemera from the late Victorian and Edwardian eras – showing both how things have changed and also remained the same.

In a world of convenient fast fashion and off-the-peg clothes shopping, few of us now regularly sew at home but this was once an unavoidable task for every household and most (generally) women would own a whole sewing kit – including a pin cushion.
We were honoured to hold the auction of the estate of much-missed antiques dealers Richard & Miranda Goodbrey on Saturday 20th May. At just under 600 lots, the auction showcased the Goodbrey’s expert eye for the quirky, interesting and fine quality, with a particular focus on folk art. The sale totalled just over £190,000 including buyers fees.
