Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin I

Lot 708 (Music & Film Memorabilia, 13th September 2019)

Sold for £1,250

Lot details

Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin I, UK 1st pressing Atlantic 588171, red/maroon label with Superhype, Jewel credits, 588171 A//1 118, B//1 184, the sleeve with turquoise lettering and grey line. (1)

Note: This 1969 UK first pressing of the self-titled Led Zeppelin album depicts the Hindenburg air disaster on the cover with turquoise lettering and red/maroon Superhype/Jewel label. Within weeks of its release, the cover was replaced with the more familiar orange lettering version – which apparently was considered more ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ than turquoise.

Condition report

The record is in fine condition, tear to inner sleeve, the cover has four small creases to the front.

Condition reports must be considered as a matter of opinion and not fact.
