An early 19th century papier-mâché-headed and cloth-covered cork-filled bodied ‘milliner’s’ style doll, having elaborately moulded sausage curl hairstyle raised at the back and with painted tendrils to the forehead, painted facial features, wearing a cream dress with embellished lace bodice and pleated skirt above petticoats and pantalettes, pink kid leather gloves and painted black boots (all clothes sewn on), with matching beaded bonnet, probably German, length 29.5cm.
