Major K.F.H. Waggett, a collection of WW II Commando militaria formerly belonging to Major Kenyon Waggett Middlesex Regiment, 12 and 5 Commando to include a a 1st pattern Fairbairn-Sykes commando fighting knife, the 16.6cm steel double edged blade marked to the forte The F-S Fighting Knife with Wilkinson Sword Co Ltd London to the opposing side, having a shaped cross guard and typical diamond chequered grip, housed in the original brown leather and brass mounted sheath, 30cm, together with a 2nd pattern Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife, having an unmarked blade with straight cross guard and lacking sheath, a military kukri, the blade of typical curved form stamped HW? 45, having a two piece riveted grip and housed in a leather sheath with War department mark and dated 1945, 43cm, a photograph of Capt Waggett with Lord Louis Mountbatten at Ta Ku Ling Frontier Outpost on the Chinese Border, a Special Forces cloth formation sign, an Eastern silver table cigarette box with presentation inscription " To Major "Ken" Waggett from the Officer's of 1/5 Commando 1942-1946" and various ephemera to include Commando Service certificate etc.

Also included in the lot are a WW I miniature 1914 Mons Star with clasp, British War and Victory medals, a pair of WW I binoculars in a brown leather case and a leather ammunition pouch, these items were given to Ken by his late father.


How to bid

You can bid through our website or email commission bids to (include your full contact details, lot number and bid amount). Telephone bids can be booked for lots with an estimate of £300+, please call our offices to arrange this.

You can also register and bid live while the auction is taking place through our LSKlive portal (3% plus VAT surcharge applies) which becomes available half an hour before the auction is due to start.  This  platform uses technology and is completely secure.  Once you have registered your details through our website, you won't need to re-register for future sales - just sign in and start bidding!  Please note that if you register for our auction on first, then you will be liable for their 4.95% plus VAT fee instead of our 3% (plus VAT) fee.

Of course, you are also very welcome to come along on the day!  We are located in the heart of beautiful Bury St Edmunds and have our own car park.  


Most Mainland UK parcels can be sent in-house for our flat standard rate of £18 for up to 3 lots and £1.50 per lot thereafter.  European shipping rates and further details can be found here.

For outside of Europe, large or high value lots we recommend MailBoxes (details will be sent along with your invoice). If you choose an alternative courier we can pack for £8 per parcel.
