A 17th century Northern European rapier, circa 1660, the 74cm flattened diamond section blade with two pierced fullers, the probably English silver hilt with double shell guard embossed with various figures, the quillon knuckle bow and pommel all further embossed with portraits possibly depicting Charles I and Henrietta Maria, the pommel marked GS probably for George Shaw, having a wire bound oak grip, housed in a steel mounted scabbard. 91cm.
