*A George III gilt gesso wall mirror, having a central bevelled oval plate with further outer double bevelled mirrorplate, within beaded and fluted surround, 81 x 66cm
We believe the plates to be late 18th century.
Gesso losses to sides all over.
Gilding appears original.
Missing applied glass jewel at 12 o’clock.
Several splits to frame.
Glass plate excellent.
Provenance: Consigned from a local deceased estate, being descendants of Robert Heath (of Robert Heath & Sons, founders of the Biddulph Valley Colliery and Iron Works) who resided at Biddulph Grange between 1871-1922, and direct descendants of the Earls of Denbigh of Newnham Paddox.
