A September full of Sales

30/08/2019     Antiques

We hope you're well-rested after the Summer, because we've got a bumper Autumn full of Auctions.

Our first auction of September is the Home & Interiors to be held on the 7th.  The sale will have over 1200 lots including this virtually new and barely-used Suzuki Ignis 4-door hatchback.  Having less than 1000 miles on the clock and in immaculate condition, this car is to be sold without reserve.

On a smaller scale, we have a wide array of antiques and collectables, art works and furniture ranging from gold rings to Victorian wardrobes.  There is also a large collection of Staffordshire figures, and a huge collection of dolls and teddy-bears from a single-owner.

Viewing will be on Friday 6th 10am - 7pm.

Catalogue coming soon.

The following weekend is our triple auction event comprising Twentieth Century Art & Design followed by Music & Film Memorabilia on Friday 13th, then Fine Art & Antiques on Saturday 14th.

The Twentieth Century Art & Design auction begins at 11am with over 100 lots of Royal Copenhagen figures, lovingly collected by a single owner over many years.  We've also got a fabulous selection of iconic jewellery by the likes of Andrew Grima, Georg Jensen and Charles de Temple, as well as pieces by big names such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Lalique, Moorcroft, Tiffany & Co, Gianni Versace, Mulberry, Franz Bergmann, and Ercol amongst many others.

If you've always hankered after a vintage brand handbag or wanted to decorate your home with achingly cool mid-20th century furniture, then this is the sale for you.

The catalogue is online now, and we will be open for viewing Thursday 12th 10am-7pm and Friday morning from 9am.

Next up, is the Music & Film Memorabilia auction at 4pm.  Of particular interest is a selection of rare vinyl editions by Joy Division, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Jimmy Page.  Elsewhere is a signed early edition of John Lennon's surrealist book In His Own Write; the very first solo effort by any of The Beatles - and who's book launch sounds like an excruciating affair!

There is also a selection of antique musical instruments including a collection of electric guitars, film  and music posters, art works and autographed items.

The catalogue is online now, and we will be open for viewing Thursday 12th 10am-7pm and Friday morning from 9am.

Saturday 14th September sees our Fine Art & Antiques auction.  This classic sale ranges from beautiful antique pieces through to traditional furniture and works of art.  Delicate Meissen figurines sit alongside intricately decorated silver by Nathaniel Mills, Hester Bateman and other renowned silversmiths. The jewellery and watches section includes Georgian mourning rings, diamond bracelets, and antique pocket watches as well as more modern examples by Rolex and Omega.  A Victorian Noah's Ark finds its places on top of a desk by Gillows and beneath a Smythe oil painting.

The catalogue is online now, and we will be open for viewing Thursday 12th 10am-7pm , Friday 13th 10am-7pm, and from 9am on the morning of the sale.

Looking ahead, October looks to be just as busy.

On Friday 4th we will holding a one-off specialist Circus Sale comprising an extensive selection of circus, fairground and magic related effects to include posters, magic books, props and ephemera. Catalogue coming soon.

Later in the month will our Coins, Banknotes & Tokens auction followed by Affordable Jewellery & Watches.  Entries are invited for both of these auctions until Friday 4th October - so don't hesitate to get in touch if you have something which you may wish to sell.

As usual, we have Home & Interiors auctions every three weeks and entries are always invited for future sales.  We have valuers available at the Auction Centre in Bury St Edmunds Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm - no appointment necessary.
