Our first triple auction weekend of 2021 couldn’t have been more different to last year’s event, which saw us on the brink of lockdown and at the start of a terrifying pandemic we are only gradually emerging from a full year later. However, now the sun is shining and the vaccination programme continues apace, and despite still being closed to the public, there is a much more confident atmosphere – and the prices achieved certainly bore this out.
Our forthcoming September specialist auctions include a fabulous selection of artworks, furniture and antiques – with over 60 lots coming from a distinguished single local estate, and a collection of rare vinyl, promotionals and acetates consigned from a former TV and radio producer.
Our Jewellery specialist Hannah McWhirter (FGA DGA), who is a member of the Institute of Registered Valuers and has been working in the jewellery sector for over 20 years, tells us about what’s in demand at the moment and some of the history to our most popular recent auction pieces.
