A Victorian silver trophy cup, having floral engraved decoration, gilt washed interior and twin handles with beaded and acanthus leaf decoration, raised on a domed footrim with further engraved decoration and beaded border, the crowned VR cypher above inscription "Presented to The Aberdeenshire Volunteer Artillery And Rifle Association July 1879" and "Won By Pte John Reid 10th Coy Inverurie 1st Aberdeenshire Rifle Volunteers", maker Elkington & Co. (Frederick Elkington), London, 1878, 33.9oz, with ebonised plinth and hand written card To Mr John Reid Winner of Queen's Cup Aberdeen, housed in a green baize lined oak case, w.32, d.23, h.42cm.
