Richard Eurich (1903-1992) - Whitby Harbour (study for the mural in the Teaching Hospital, Sheffield), oil on board, inscribed with title and artists name verso, 69 x 101.5cm

Note: Likely circa 1960. Exhibited at Ash Barn Gallery, Petersfield, 1980 (No.3), and at The Fine Art Society, London, 1991 (No.5). This work is a study for Richard Eurich's first mural commission for the Teaching Hospital in Sheffield. This example bears notations, squaring, and a few stray pencil marks. Eurich has a special fondness for Whitby, which he painted numerous times in his long artistic career.

Condition report

Two brush hairs within paint, each to extremities of sky.

Framed but not glazed.

Some very gentle surface grubbiness towards borders.

Overall very good and original.
