Lacy Scott & Knight have a long history of carrying out specialist on-site sales for Country Houses and Businesses and of arranging sales by tender, should this be more appropriate.

We are also able to hold Single Owner Collection sale at the Auction Centre such as the much publicised John Clibbon sale of Gauge 1 Trains and a rare barn-find collection of modern classic cars which sold for over £200,000 in March 2010 and secured a page in the Daily Telegraph. We held another hugely successful Classic Cars & Motorcycles auction in 2021, and it has now become an annual fixture on our calendar.

We are also extremely proud to have twice been the auctioneers for Sir Bobby Robson's Breakthrough Auction & Ball in memory of former England football manager Sir Bobby Robson and breast cancer campaigner Sally Balch. The first sale in 2011 raised a fantastic £250,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

2013 included The Angus McBean Collection in April; a stand-alone auction of a collection of works by, and property belonging to, the late celebrated society and theatre photographer Angus McBean. We also hosted three auctions for local charities - East Anglian Children's Homes (EACH), West Suffolk Hospital Charity and the second Sit Bobby Robson fundraiser.

Possibly one of the most fascinating auction catalogues we have ever compiled is the October 2018 Alfred Swaine Taylor family collection. Alfred Swaine Taylor is known as the 'Father of Forensic Medicine' and was also an early pioneer in the world of photography. Amongst the collection were first editions of Taylor’s works on Medical Jurisprudence and Photogenia, as well as copious notes, manuscripts, photographs, awards (including the Swiney Cup), correspondence, and items relating to the countless criminal cases in which Taylor’s expertise was sought. Taylor was involved in many of the most infamous poisoning and other murder cases of the Victorian era including the Richmond Poisoner, ‘sweet’ Fanny Adams, the first railway murder, William Palmer ‘The Rugeley Poisoner’ and many more. The collection has come to us from Taylor’s descendants, resident at Thorne Court where Taylor’s daughter Edith lived after her marriage to Frederick Methold.

2022 featured a 'white-glove' auction of Collectible, Limited Edition & Vintage Pens which included several extremely scarce and desirable models in mint condition. Online bidders from all over the world helped to push the sale total to twice the estimated hammer price.
