This single owner collection of over 40,000 postcards has been
put together over the course of fifty years by our vendor.
The collection, which will be sold without reserve on
Saturday 1st October, includes thousands of
real photographs, oilettes, chromo-lithos, printed colour cards,
pop-outs, 'hold to light', kaleidoscope, 'look-thro', embroidered
and woven silks etc
Subjects range from topographical (UK regions &
Cities, Worldwide interest and many local examples), general
military & World War One, disasters, Titanic interest,
greetings cards, mourning cards, Naval interest, Artist cards (to
include Donald McGill, Louis Wain, Harry Payne, Ernest Ibbetson,
Tom Browne, Mabel Lucie Atwell, Bruce Bairnsfather, Reg Carter and
many others), animal interest, comic & humorous, glamour
images, song & poetry, Valentine Series, cathedrals &
churches, street scenes, floral interest, advertising interest,
gatherings & groups (to include school children, soldiers,

A large section of the sale will be dedicated to East
Anglian interest postcards and many of our local towns and villages
